Learn Android Development from the Pros
Sometimes it is difficult to get beyond the basics of Android development. Although there are books, tutorials, and documentation for advanced Android development, it is often easier to learn such things from experienced developers who have been working professionally on different projects.
On the 6th-7th October 2011, the Droidcon conference will take place in London, UK. Droidcon, which is hosted by Skills Matter and organized by Wireless Industry Partnership and Novoda, is the largest conference dedicated to Android development in the United Kingdom. The event is a great opportunity to improve your knowledge of Android Development.
The first day, Thursday the 6th of October, will be a barcamp and democamp on which participants can show and explain their applications and suggest discussions and talks.
The second day, Friday the 7th of October, offers a wide range of speaks by some of the leading people in the Android community including Richard Hyndman, Nick Butcher, Mark Murphy, Al Sutton, Thai Tran, and Javier Agüera. You can see the full list of speakers on the Droidcon website.
The topics include concurrency and multi-core, Android@Home, Fragments, 3D advertising, user interfaces, battery consumption, developer tools, as well as how to release and run beta apps. The programme list is also available on the Droidcon website.
Another advantage of joining a conference is that you can ask questions directly to the speakers. Additionally, you can get ideas and inspiration from the other attendees and the speakers.
